When I first started in University, I had no clue what to do. I knew that I wanted to build a skill that would help me run a business in the future but due to my lack of understanding, I started in management. Thinking that it would teach me on how to “manage” a business, I immediately realized that this was not the case. After this realization, I decided that accounting would be the perfect route because the skills that I would develop were allot more tangible.
After one year in the program, I heard about the CPA title and how challenging it was and I decided to set this as one of my goals. I knew that by having this title, I would be able to build my credibility by appearing more financially literate and that I would be able to have more leverage when negotiating loans.
